A Special Interest Group (SIG) of the New Mexico Library Association
Who are we? The School Librarians Special Interest Group is a dedicated network within the New Mexico Library Association focused on supporting, promoting, and protecting school libraries and media centers across the state. As school environments evolve, our mission is to ensure that every New Mexico student and educator has access to a robust, well-funded library led by qualified professionals.
We provide school librarians and library workers with a collaborative forum to share resources, discuss policy, and mobilize around critical legislative efforts, including intellectual freedom and literacy initiatives. Whether you are a solo librarian looking for a professional community or an active advocate ready to speak up at the roundhouse, the School Librarians SIG is your home for professional connection and collective action.
Our Mission: We empower New Mexico’s school librarians to transform teaching and learning.
